Mason County Burn Restrictions: Begin May 23rd

While there has been some rain in the last few days, Mason County has already seen significant wildfire activity this year. This dry weather conditions in Mason County have created “substantial fire dangers,” prompting authorities to declare a burn restriction effective May 23, 2019 at 8 a.m.

The Mason County burn restrictions restrict yard debris, natural vegetation and land clearing fires in Mason County. Once these restrictions are in effect we anticipate that they will stay in effect for the rest of the summer season.

Mason County’s burn restrictions will NOT restrict recreational fires in an approved fire pit, such as campfires. The burning of any human made or refined products (paper, trash, lumber, etc.) is always restricted in Mason County.

Look at our recreational fire information page for more information on how you can design a safe recreational fire.
